A point-of-sale and business-operations platform: checkout, inventory, purchasing, customers, reports, staff roles, and a completed Safaricom Daraja M-Pesa integration.
This is an ongoing software product with a substantial implementation behind it. The documented architecture covers a web application (POS checkout, customer records, reports, inventory, purchasing and an M-Pesa payment interface), an API layer, a set of business-operation services, platform services for authentication and access, and PostgreSQL persistence through Prisma.
The M-Pesa integration with Safaricom Daraja is complete according to the current project status. The next major module is an integrated communication module: bringing WhatsApp and other social platforms into the POS so a business can manage sales, stock, payments and customer communication in one operational system. That module is planned and not yet built.
Engineering value
- Service-based business logic: each domain (sales, catalog, inventory, customers, purchasing, suppliers, reports, M-Pesa) lives in its own service behind the API.
- External payment integration: a dedicated M-Pesa controller and service, transaction persistence, and a Safaricom callback flow.
- Access control as a first-class concern: authentication, staff accounts, and roles and permissions are separate platform services.
- A single relational model (PostgreSQL via Prisma) shared across sales, stock, purchasing and payments.
